Learn How The Aquaseal FD Repair Kit Works

Person wearing black gloves using a cloth to clean a rip on an orange paddling jacket

Step 01

Clean the damaged area. Remove dirt and debris from your gear, and make sure the surface is completely dry. A clean surface ensures the adhesive sticks properly.

Step 02

Apply Aquaseal FD. Use the brush to apply a thin, even layer of adhesive over the tear, extending slightly beyond the edges. Let the adhesive become tacky - this takes about 30 minutes.

Step 03

Reinforce with Tenacious Tape. Place a patch of Tenacious Tape over the repair while the adhesive is still tacky. Smooth it down to remove any air bubbles.

Step 04

Let it cure. Allow your gear to sit undisturbed for 8–12 hours (if possible). Once cured, the repair is flexible, strong, and waterproof.
